The Relationship Between Parenting Style And Emotion Regulation Strategies And Peer Relationship

With the growing of time that students stay at school,peer relationship turn into important work when in terms of students' socialization.As a conclusion,individual,family,social background are the 3 elements that affect peer relationship.To balance one's the external behavior and internal cognitive beliefs,people take different emotion regulation strategies.Meanwhile,parenting style in family play an vital role on peer relationship.Former research consist of the relationship among parenting style,the emotion regulation strategies,peer relationship.parenting style has been treated as one topic while the coherence of father's and mother's has been ignored.And there's no final conclusion of researching the relationship among father's style and mother's style,emotion regulation strategies,peer relationship.we took a questionnaire survey to researching 500 students,we got a conclusion as below.1.The higher the degree of warmth of father and mother,the better the situation of children's peer relationship.The more interference of the mother,the worse the peer relationship.The father warmth degree is higher,the better the interaction with opposite sex girl situation.The mother warmth degree is higher,the better the interaction with opposite sex girl and boy's situation.The higher the degree of interference of mother(or over protection of father),the worse the interaction with opposite sex boy/girl's situation,but no significant effect on girls/boys.The higher the degree of interference of father,the worse the interaction with opposite sex boy's situation,but no significant effect on girls.2.The higher the degree of warmth of father and mother,children tend to be positive,mixed emotion regulation strategy.The higher the degree of mother's refusal and denial,children tend to choose negative strategies.3.Father and mother emotional warmth positively predict positive and mixed strategies for middle school students,the mother refused to deny positively predict negative strategies.4.If the positive emotion regulation strategy is chosen,it is good for the development of the peer relationship,and the choice of negative emotion regulation is not conducive to peer relationship.5.The father and mother's warmth style through the use of positive emotion regulation strategies have partial mediating effects on the peer relationship.Mother's refusal and deny through the use of negative emotion regulation strategies have a complete mediating effect on peer relationship.
