| With the implementation of the new curriculum,the transformation of teaching and learning methods is attached much importance.As a teaching method promoted by the new curriculum,the inquiry teaching has changed the situations like the single teaching method,the passive learning,the lack of independent thinking and the hands-on experience of solving mathematical problems.The mathematical inquiry teaching in high grade of primary school not only develops students’ innovation and exploration abilities,but also improves math teachers’ professional abilities.Numerous problems are brought out with the use of the mathematical inquiry teaching in high grade of primary school.The urgent issue is how to implement the inquiring teaching effectively.The literature method,the questionnaire survey and the interview were used in this research.The questionnaire survey about the current situations of mathematical inquiry teaching was done,taking primary school math teachers and students in high grade(Grade 4,Grade 5 and Grade 6)as the objects.Some teachers were interviewed.According to the results,the problems of the mathematical inquiry teaching in high grade were analyzed.The main problems were listed as follows.Teachers misunderstand the inquiry teaching.The implementation of inquiry teaching in class doesn’t go well.The evaluation method of inquiry teaching is not reasonable.Students have little knowledge of inquiry teaching.There are problems like low participation and the lack of exploring atmosphere.Students don’t perform well in the implementation of inquiry teaching.There are problems like the lack of hands-on abilities and inquiry spirit.The further research showed the reasons.Teachers don’t get enough training and they don’t attach much importance to the inquiry teaching.The ideas of teaching are not changed in time.There is no adequate preparation for the inquiry contents.There is the lack of powerful classroom management.The evaluation method of teaching is single.Students have difficulty in self exploration and cooperative learning.Aiming at the problems,related countermeasures were put forward.Implement training for the teachers positively.Create campus environment for the inquiry study.Enhance teachers’ self-study.Update the ideas of teaching.Choose practical inquiry contents wisely.Enhance classroom management.Adopt the various evaluation methods.Encourage students to participate in the inquiry activities positively and enhance the training of inquiry abilities by themselves. |
