Professional affection is identified as the teachers' spirit of endless pursuit and struggle for bigger achievement and the emotion and will in the teaching activities based on the understanding of the value of the profession.The professional affection is also a higher professional realm in the aspect of psychology.The professional affection determines teachers' attitude to their occupation and the level of investment,which subsequently determines the quality of education.Professional affection is the core of teacher's accomplishment,and it is also an important indicator to measure the quality of teacher.In China,few study of biology teachers' professional emotion in middle school has been reported,especially in underdeveloped areas,such as Ganzhou etc.In this study,the definition and composition of teachers' professional emotion were clarified based on the large scale analysis of literatures.The questionnaires were prepared based on Maslow's hierarchy of needs theory,teacher professional development theory and the system theory.Total 215 questionnaires were distributed to the teachers in Zhanggong,Ganxian,Nankang,Anyuan,Xunwu,Dayu,Xinfeng,Chongyi of Ganzhou in Jiangxi province,210 were taken back.The withdraw rate was 98%.Of the withdraw questionnaires,2 are invalid,208 are valid.SPSS 22.0 software was used to analyze the reliability and validity of the questionnaire.The results showed that the reliability indices(?)of each dimension were higher than 0.7,all of them were in the acceptable range.Taking all the questions as a whole,the reliability index is 0.9.Therefore,the questionnaire has high reliability.In the questionnaire designed in this study,the common factor variance is between 0.509-0.791,which show that the common factors on each item describe the questions well,namely that all items(questions)distinguish subjects well.In the questionnaire,the correlations among the four dimensions of professional affection,except the correlation between the professional ideal and professional aptitude,are significant.In summary,the questionnaire can effective evaluate the teachers professional affection of biology teachers in middle school.The results of this study showed that the characteristics of the professional affection of the biology teachers in middle school in Ganzhou were as followed:1.The professional affection of male teachers is generally lower than females,and the male teachers aged 36-40 were the lowest;2.The professional affection of unmarried teachers is lower than married teachers,and marriage affect more on female teachers;3.The professional affection has strongly positive relation to the economic income and health status of teachers;4.In the aspect of working years,the teachers working for 16-20 years have the highest professional affection;5.There is no significant difference of the professional affection of teacher between city and township,while the professional affection of the female teachers in town is lower than the average score.6.In the aspect of professional title,the master teachers presented the lowest professional affection score;7.The head teachers of classes have class higher professional affection than the other teachers.According to the results of this study,to improve the professional affection,we suggested that: 1)the teachers should be paid better;2)more education and training opportunities be should provide to teachers;3)the social status of teachers should be improved.
