With the increasing of the elderly population and proportion,China has already inevitably formed the aging society period,active aging has become an important part of building a harmonious society.The Eighteenth National Congress of the Communist Party of China clearly improved the system of lifelong education,China's new "Elderly Rights Law" is proposed to effectively protect the rights of the elderly education,it has become an important measure to realize active aging,strengthen the theoretical research of the elderly education,promote the scientific development of the education for the elderly,has become a new subject which needs to be solved urgently.Based on the actual development of Quanzhou City,comprehensively summed up the education for the elderly in Quanzhou city for 30 years,which is an important carrier for the elderly education – Quanzhou Aged University,analyze the data by the enrollment rate of the elderly and the number of aged school,explore the changes as the elderly education.Next,based on the theory of government functions and the theory of new public service,the government should think and play a role in the development of the elderly education in politics,economy,culture,social security and so on.With this concept,this paper discusses the role of the Quanzhou municipal government in the development process of Quanzhou elderly education,and Quanzhou municipal government in the development of the elderly education as a positive,meet the needs of the elderly education in hardware and software,such as personnel,funds,placesBut with the acceleration of the aging process,this paper puts forward the development of the elderly education concepts in the lack of policy support,investment funds,the construction of teaching staff,resource allocation and so on,and analyzes the cause of the problem.In reference on the basis of other area of outstanding experience and theoretical research,analyzes the government policy path which conducive to promoting the development of the elderly education.
