In recent years,the study of characters in teaching Chinese as a second language is on the beginning,and less studies are there for the Thailand students of characters in teaching Chinese as a second language.There is no doubt that the theory,practice,and experience of calligraphy teaching in domestic could be used,but teaching Chinese character by using calligraphy is a new area and there is no many studies for characters teaching design for Thailand middle school students who is on the primary level of Chinese learning.Besides,characters teaching is neglected in teaching Chinese as a second language area for a long time."Literacy" is one of the main teaching forms and methods and teachers usually pay no attentions in Chinese characters.Even though teachers do give time to characters teaching,the form will be simple reading and writing.The efficiency of this kind of method of character teaching is low for foreign students.Based on context theory and the author's Chinese character teaching experience in Tharuapittayakhom School of Thailand,this paper gave a teaching design of calligraphy for the primary Chinese level middle school students according to traditional Chinese calligraphy theory,using this design to Thailand students to see its efficiency.At last,this paper gave corresponding teaching suggestions on the errors that appeared for Thailand students.
