Chen Heqin,a famous modern educationist,children psychologist and children education expert,is the founder and pioneer of modern children education in china.In the long term experiment and reform of primary education,Chen Heqin gradually deepened the research of primary education and finally formed a set of characteristic primary education theory.As an important part of Chen Heqin's education thoughts,his primary education thoughts and practices not only has great contribution to education at that time,but also has guidance and practical significance of the current development of primary school education in china.With the continuous development of economy and society in our country,the quality and the level of personal training has constantly improving,and English education is regarded as an important part of the talents quality.The real development of English education in primary school in china originated from The Outline of National Basic Education Curriculum Reform(Trial)in 2001.With the advocacy of national policy,the reform and development of English teaching in primary school has achieved a great successes in the past ten years.However,there are still some problems such as irrational of structure of teachers,lacking of interests and enthusiasm among students,and so on.In this study,I take Chen Heqin's primary school education thoughts as a research direction,and takes present primary English teaching as a breakthrough point to explore the practical significance of Chen Heqin's primary school education thoughts in current primary school English teaching,and to highlight the value of times of Chen Heqin's primary school education thoughts.This paper is divided into five parts:The first part is introduction.This part includes the research origins,the significance,the methods,the innovation and the literature review in this paper.The second part is to explore the historical background the ideological origins,which is focusing on his practice and reform of primary school in Nanjing and Shanghai.The third part mainly summarizes the connotation and the characteristics of Chen Heqin's primary school education thoughts.The fourth part analyzes some problems existing in present primary school English teaching by means of the interviews and questionnaires.The fifth part is the combination of Chen Heqin's primary school education thought and the current primary school English teaching,to explore the practical significance of the primary education thought of Chen Heqin.
