Critical thinking ability is the basic ability necessary for knowledge innovation and rational decision-making.It has been recognized as the basic learning and academic skills of "reading" and "writing" by the international education community.Under the background of vigorously promoting the construction of "innovative countries",how to cultivate students' critical thinking in basic education has become an important problem that needs to be paid attention to and solved urgently in our educational administration and educators.The geography curriculum standard for senior high school clearly points out that "high school geography content standards contain a large amount of content that requires students to use rational thinking.Developing students' critical thinking and creative thinking is an important way to achieve these standards in teaching." High school geography teaching shoulders the dual task of critical thinking and innovative thinking training for students.Therefore,it is necessary to train students' critical thinking in high school geography teaching.This paper analyzes the theory and practice of critical thinking cultivation at home and abroad,and analyzes the feasibility of applying critical thinking in high school geography teaching;On the basis of this,Through a questionnaire survey,To understand the current situation of critical thinking training in high school geography teaching and the current situation of critical thinking ability of senior twelfth students in Guiyang middle school;under the guidance of modern educational philosophy,we design typical teaching cases of critical thinking in high school geography teaching,and practice in the high school geogra phy classroom teaching;Based on the current situation investigation and teaching practice,this paper sums up the problems existing in the cultivation of critical thinking in geography teaching;In order to promote the cultivation of students' critical thinking in geography teaching,this paper puts forward the specific strategies of cultivating critical thinking from six aspects: teacher teaching skill,teaching material content,teacher-student relationship,teaching method,eval uation method and practice training.The survey shows that high school geography teachers have certain critical thinking skills,But the importance of critical thinking training for students is low,the implementation of training critical thinking teaching ability is insufficient,lack of operation methods and skills of critical thinking,The present situati on of critical thinking training is poor;At this stage,high schoolstudents' critical thinking ability is low,which shows weak awareness of problems and insufficient questioning ability.The experimental results show that the critical thinking ability of the students in the experimental class is significantly improved after the teaching practice of high school geography critical thinking cultivation;Compared to the controlclass,In the experimental class,the classroom atmosphere is active,the students' participation is high,the frequency of the classroom is increased;It is feasible and effective to train students in critical teaching in geography teaching.The research shows that the teaching ability of teachers' critical thinking is not enough,the students lack modern learning methods and their academic evaluation methods are single;In order to promote the cultivation of students' critical thinking in high school geography teaching,This paper puts forward the strategies of cultivating students ' critical thinking in high school geography teaching from the aspects of strengthening the training of teachers ' critical thinking skills,selecting the teaching contents of critical thinking cultivation,creatinga harmonious atmosphere of critical thinking cultivation,using various teachingmethods,establishing multiple evaluation methods and attaching importance to after-school exercises training.
