The school-based curriculum is an important complement to the national curriculum.It is an important component in the curriculum level system of our country.The school-based curriculum development is based on the school,according to the available resources in the environment of the school,which is designed and implemented by the school community.It is a democratic and open,continuous dynamic curriculum development process.It can adapt to the development of the times,promote the growth of students' personality,enhance the consciousness of teachers,and realize the innovation of school curriculum.Therefore,use of the survival status of local endangered wildlife resources,combined with the characteristics of school,develop a biological school-based curriculum with targeted and regional characteristic.It plays an important role in the development of our biological teaching.Based on the study of the school-based curriculum development of “Endangered wildlife in Xinjiang”.According to the survey of biology teachers and the students' learning needs analysis,we got the conditions of the curriculum development both inside and outside the school.Understand the student's current biology learning background,got the students' demand information about the school-based curriculum learning content,learning methods and evaluation methods.On this basis,established the theme of the course,and developed the overall objectives and objectives of the curriculum.Subsequently,combined with literature research and student interviews,selected the teaching content of the five modules and preparated the school-based teaching materials and relevant teaching resources.“Endangered wildlife in Xinjiang” school-based curriculum has been implemented for all students in grade eight.During the implementation,many teaching methods had been applied,such as creating task situation,questioning method,exploring and group cooperative learning,and etc.After the implementation of the course,through the students' test,the students' questionnaire survey and the biological teachers' observation,the course was evaluated.According to the results of the implementation and evaluation,the following conclusions are drawn:(1)The development of school-based curriculum of“Endangered wildlife in Xinjiang” has achieved the goal of understanding the relevant knowledge of the endangered wildlife in Xinjiang,improving the learning interest and scientific literacy,taking shape the emotion of protecting nature andaffecting hometown.(2)After test,The excellent rate of students' test is 72.2%,83.68% of the students like the school-based curriculum,and about 99.47% of the students are satisfied with the results.(3)The goal of the course is reasonable,and it has a good education,the content of the course is fit,the teaching and evaluation methods are diverse,and it is loved by the majority of students.(4)The school-based curriculum with local characteristics has cultivated the students' sense of responsibility for the protection of wildlife and enhanced their love for hometown.This study shows that: The development of school-based curriculum of “Endangered wildlife in Xinjiang” has been better completed,It is feasible to develop the school-based curriculum for the students in the grade eight to make use of the endangered wildlife resources.In this study,we developed a school-based curriculum which is suitable for the students of grade eight in Xinjiang,and hope the results can provide some reference for developing school-based curriculum in the fumre.
