The Social Work Intervention In Promoting The Service Ability Of Urban Young Elderly Volunteers

Young elderly as huge human resources in society,have some advantages in available time,health,and financial condition;their joining in volunteer service has graduallyincreased to a larger scale.However,most of young elderly volunteers lack professional service skills,and need improvement in service ability.From the perspective of social work,the author makes attempts to apply social work theories andmethods to the practice of urban young elderly volunteers so as to help improve their service ability.This paper is divided into six parts: the first part is the introduction,including the research background,research purpose and significance,research ideas and methods,the literature review both at home and abroad.The second part is the definition of related concepts.This part not only involves the young elderly volunteers and their volunteer service ability,but also introduces the feasibility and necessity of case work intervention in promoting the service ability of the urban young elderly.The third part investigates theservice ability of young elderly volunteers in Traffic Park community by using interview method and participatory observation.The fourth part includes two links that case work intervenes in improving urban young elderly volunteers service ability;this part introduces the egotism's basic information and his problems and then analyses his problem in detail and carries out intervention in their service in the framework of communication theory and advantages perspective.The fifth part focus on the case work involved in improving urban young elderly volunteer' service;service purpose and plan are made on the basis of previously forecast needs and problems ofthe egotism tohelp them ease bad mood and enhance ability in volunteer service to help others.The sixth is the conclusion and suggestion.Social work practice proved that case work intervention is feasible to enhance the service ability of the urban young elderly volunteers.Suggestions are also put forward on how to enhance their ability in this part.This paper provides a way and a feasible work model for improving the service ability of urban young volunteers.
