With China’s population aging problem is becoming increasingly serious,people’s living standards improved at the same time,the old people pay more attention to their physical and mental health,the demand for improving their personal quality and learning is increasing.Under this background,the new open university of old age,which is supported by modern information technology,is founded.Due to the short running time,although there are needs in sports curriculum,there is lack of investigation and research and no scientific theoretical guidance and systematic support and guarantee.This study,on the basis of careful study of relevant policies of the state,has looked through books on curriculum theory,teaching theory,curriculum setting,education,statistics,and training,As well as the research results of education professional,physical education and physical education of old age university.This paper is based on the study of the curriculum of the old age open university,and adopts the literature method,questionnaire survey method,expert interview method,field investigation method and mathematical statistical analysis method.The conclusions are as follows:First of all,the elderly students who participated in the study of physical course in the university were younger,with more female students than male students.The elderly students love physical activity,and the learning motivation is clear,the main purpose is to strengthen the body;However,due to the conflict between curriculum arrangement and personal life,there are frequent absences.Older students are more satisfied with the content and form of the course,but a certain percentage of students are dissatisfied.Secondly,the sports teachers in the university are aging seriously and the age structure is not reasonable.Teachers have a low level of culture,mainly high school and junior college.The major the teachers learned is lack of related majors in old age.The part-time job is common and there is short of the management of pre-job training and post-job training.Thirdly,there is a strong randomness in the open university sports courses at present,and it is difficult to meet the needs of elderly students for the study of sports courses.There isn’ t selection of course materials,and the development of curriculum resources and the construction of self-compiled teaching textbooks are still in the early stage.Fourthly,there are sufficient resources of indoor sports space in the old age open university,but is lack of outdoor sports space,which affects the development of the sports courses of the elderly open university.Fifthly,elderly students can accept modern learning media,willing to try online learning,identify mobile application software,personal learning space and other means of learning.Sixth,there are many researches and projects in old age education,sports education and open education both at home and abroad.But the study combining old age education,sports education and open education is extremely scarce.Seventh,China has issued a series of laws and regulations on the old age education,which gives the elderly the right to study.But there are no clear,complete and systematic regulations on the development goals,key tasks,basic principles,management system,operation mechanism and safeguard measures of the elderly education,and there is also lack of operable and specific implementation projects.
