Study drive is the most important factor to promote and keep learner to study. It is an inner ingredient to arouse, impel and maintain the study activities including the impetus which can take an active part in the study. Distance learner can benefit from the reflection on his study and the study drive, which can help him keep up with a series of independence study activities. The tutor in the distance instruction should understand the theory and regulation of the study drive, and hold the methods to inspire the learner in effect. Based on actuality of study drive in the distance learning, this thesis try to find the ways and the means to the lack of study drive.It shows that the diploma together with the individual interest is the key factor for distance learner to select the distance education. So, the learner should be told how to learn well. The thesis considers that separation is inbeing of distance education and the idea on separating of personnel, resources, management, service and then integrate them again is the leading idea in the distance education and distance instruction. The tutor should comprehend the theory of distance education and instruction, and at the same time , not only make great use of the design in the method of the distance learning but also attach great importance to the evaluation of the learner.
