A Study Of Extracurricular Reading Present Situation About Elementary School Students

Our knowledge of the world cannot be separated from reading,and even our understanding of ourselves needs to be learned by reading.Reading is the spiritual demand of human beings.By reading,human beings can survive and develop better.Reading plays an important role in the growth of life.Reading,as an important content,has been included in primary school Chinese teaching.As one of the ways of Chinese teaching,extracurricular reading is complementary to classroom teaching,and the combination of the two can promote the development of Chinese teaching.With the improvement of the importance of extracurricular reading,the study of extracurricular reading has also received widespread attention.Reading interests and reading habits need to be raised from childhood,and primary school is especially important.At this stage,there are still many problems in the extracurricular reading of primary school students in our country,so it is of great practical value and significance to study it.Students from 3 elementary schools in N Town are the main research objects of this paper.The paper carries out research about students' extracurricular reading from five main dimensions,such as students' reading interest and motivation,time and content,reading method,the influence factors of reading,students digital reading,and so on.Some problems are found;including that reading interest is not high,the extracurricular reading time is shorter,extracurricular reading is unplanned,extracurricular reading guide is in sufficient.According to the existing problems,the causes of the problems are analyzed and explored from the aspects of society,schools,teachers and parents.In the end,the following improvement strategies and suggestions are presented: 1.Attaches great importance to the elementary student's extracurricular reading education2.Actively cultivate students' interest in extracurricular reading;3.Strengthen the guidance for elementary school students in reading activities;fourthly,give full play to the advantages of digital reading.
