A nation’s education is the premise and foundation of its sustainable development.Professional educational practitioners play a significant role in the process of education,maximizing the overall growth and development of students,and training more high-equality talents.It is a strong voice of the educational reform in the new period as well as a consensus reached in the rational understanding of the new curriculum reform.Nowadays,due to geographical differences and the influence of economic development,for the majority of rural ideological and moral teachers,there are some problems remain,such as unreasonable professional knowledge structure,the low level of teaching and research,and the limited teaching ability and skills.Some rural ideological and moral teachers do not take the initiative to improve their professional growth.They get fewer opportunities for professional training,and many rural schools don’t pay enough attention to teachers’ professional development.The threshold for being a teacher is lax,and teachers’ liquidity is poor.All of these can be seen as the barriers to the rural ideological and moral teachers’ professional development.In order to realize the need of strengthening morality,the level of ideological and moral teachers’ professional development has to be improved.Firstly,the paper adopts the literature research method,collecting a large number of related literatures of domestic and foreign ideological and moral teachers’ professional development,briefly introducing the related research achievement both domestic and international,defining related concepts,expounding the necessities and goals of the professional development of ideological and moral teachers.Secondly,the paper uses action research method,taking ideological and moral as an experimental subject,exploring the existing problems and making countermeasures in the process of teaching research and professional learning.Thirdly,the paper also adopts the method of experience summarization,enriching the argument and getting the strategy to solve the problems based on the comprehensive research.The paper mainly consists of three parts: the professional development of rural ideological and moral teachers,the current existing problems and reasons of rural ideological and moral teachers’ professional development and the professional development strategies of rural ideological and moral teachers.In the overview of the professional development of rural ideological and moral teachers,this paper defines the concept of teachers’ professional development and points out the three requirements of the professional development of ideological and moral teachers.It further shows that the professional development is of great significance in enhancing the comprehensive quality of ideological and moral teachers,promoting the development of new curriculum reform and improving the quality of ideological and moral education.In the part of the current existing problems and reasons of rural ideological and moral teachers’ professional development,this paper,combining the current situation of rural middle school,points out that the professional knowledge structure of ideological and moral teachers’ professional development is not rational,the level of teaching and scientific research needs to be improved,and teaching abilities and skills are limited.The reasons for these problems are that the promotional desire of professional quality is not strong,fewer opportunities for teachers to gain professional training,many rural schools don’t pay enough attention to teachers’ professional development,the threshold for being a teacher is lax,and teachers’ liquidity is poor.Focusing on the existing problems and reasons,the last part of this paper puts forward countermeasures for solving the rural ideological and moral education of teachers’ professional development,broadens the professional development path,enriches professional knowledge and the educational and teaching skills,improves the scientific research ability and their professional accomplishment.
