The tutor system studied in this paper refers to the teaching management support system where the subject teachers act as students' tutors,participate in student management and provide students with guidance and help in thinking,study,life,psychology,,etc.in the context of the class-selection system implemented in regular high schools after the high school new curriculum reform while the class teacher management system is adopted.The Ministry of Education issued a document planning the full implementation of the college entrance examination reform from 2017.In the reform,the college entrance examination results will include the results of the unified examination subjects(Chinese,Mathematics and Foreign Language)and the self-selected examination subjects(any three from Politics,History,Geography,Physics,Chemistry and Biology).So many regular high school began to practice “the class-selection system” teaching to meet the college entrance examination reform requirements.On account of regional characteristics and school situation,there are mainly two types,i.e.the partial class-selection system and the complete class-selection system.Since 2010,some coastal cities including Shanghai began the pilot implementation of “the class-selection system” teaching.The new teaching model also led to changes in school management models and posed new challenges to the traditional class teacher management system.Some high schools timely introduced the tutor system to solve problems arising from the class-selection system.The regular high school tutor system has captured more and more attention.Some provinces and cities even attempted to incorporate the high school tutor system into the local education reform and development plan outline texts.In the past few years,the tutor system has been piloted and explored at regular high schools in many places.There have been many forms including moral tutor system,subject tutor system,full tutor system,research tutor system and interest tutor system with unique characteristics.Through experimental exploration,the tutor system has shown some highlights.So how to specifically operate the tutor system at regular high schools? What are the problems during the implementation? How to deal with those problems? These require further study and exploration of educational experts and scholars.Based on the questionnaire surveys and interviews made among one hundred teachers and three hundred and fifty students in Laishan No.1 Middle School of Shandong Province,combined with other schools' experience of the tutor system,the paper clarifies the feasibility and necessity of the tutor system management in regular high schools,lists the existing and potential problems in the initial implementation of the system,analyzes and studies the problems and causes for the perfection and effectiveness of the tutor system management and the comprehensive realization of effective management over students.The introduction of the thesis mainly includes the presentation and research significance of the tutor system problems,the definition of the relevant concepts of the tutor system,the introduction of domestic and foreign research status and proposal of the research methods.The introduction further introduces the present situation and effect survey of the high school tutor system,analyzes the problems arising during the implementation of the tutor system,and finally puts forward the countermeasures to improve the implementation effect of the high school teacher tutor system.
