Along with the deep expansion of the new curriculum reform of basic education in China,the roles of the teachers are changing quietly from the curriculum implementer to the curriculum developer and constructer.School-based curriculum becomes the hot topic for the moment.As the teachers who work in practice,we should fulfill the mission of the times to develop curriculum and perfect the construction of curriculum.On the principle of improving our own professionalism and promoting the all-round development of students,we should go into school-based curriculum development.English Curriculum Criterion in Compulsory Phrase(2011 edition)proposed that “students could understand simple illustrated stories”,and “read simple stories and short passages correctly with the help of images”,which emphasized the importance of images in English teaching.English picture books receive a growing attention with their characteristics of presenting texts and graphics at the same time.The school-based English curriculum based on English picture books aims to expose students to interesting stories with texts and graphics and authentic English expressions by English picture books teaching.Students can get fun from English reading and stimulate interest in English learning,thus cultivating their comprehensive language application ability.After making a literature review on previous relevant domestic and foreign researches,the thesis adopts the method of action research,choosing Wuxi Y primary school as the research objects,does the action research of the development school-based English curriculum based on English picture books.The thesis is divided into eight chapters.The first chapter is introduction,introduces the basis of research,research purpose,research significance and research methods.The second chapter is literature review,introduces related research status at home and abroad,and the possibility and feasibility of the research.The third chapter analyzes the situation of the development of the school-based English curriculum based on English picture books from the three aspects of teachers,students and school.The fourth chapter introduces the curriculum objectives and grading standard of the school-based English curriculum based on English picture books.The fifth chapter introduces the principle of choosing the appropriate English picture books,development strategy and the arrangement of the English picture books of the school-based English curriculum based on English picture books.The sixth chapter introduces the implementation principles and general teaching procedures of the school-based English curriculum based on English picture books.The seventh chapter introduces the evaluation content and criterion,as well as the evaluation methods of the school-based English curriculum based on English picture books.The eighth chapter introduces the achievement of the development of the school-based English curriculum based on English picture books from the three aspects of the English subject,teachers and students.At the same time,it gives some suggestions on the development of the curriculum.The aim of this research is to offer teachers with some inspiration and reference in developing the school-based curriculum related to English picture books to promote and perfect the construction of the English curricula system.
