Being an important part of Chinese curriculum in senior high school,the teaching of classic foreign literature is of great help to broaden students' humanistic vision as well as enrich their aesthetic experience.However,teachers tend to attach less importance to foreign literature in practical teaching comparing Chinese literature.Therefore,the interpretation of foreign literature is far from satisfactory.When teaching foreign literature,teachers focus mainly on the text itself,touching on the content of the text without making a deep interpretation of the cultural background and appreciating the cultural elements included.According to the above situation,the author carried out this research,aiming to explore an effective teaching method which can be applied to the teaching of foreign culture in senior high school.The thesis is divided into four parts:The first part is the introduction of the thesis,which points out the research background and the existing research results,and defines the core concepts used in this article,such as foreign culture and cultural teaching.The second part in high school Chinese textbooks as an example,analyze the experimental conditions and characteristics of foreign works in the textbooks,and analysis the main teaching content of foreign culture,mainly including the teaching content of language teaching content,literature teaching content and culture.The teaching content of language is particularly noteworthy in the process of translation because of cultural differences can not be literal language and language with special cultural meaning;literature teaching content level mainly refers to different ethnic literary works in the way of expression of the different teaching content;the cultural level mainly refers to the implication of era spirit and humanistic spirit in the works.The third part,through questionnaire survey,actually understands the current situation and existing problems of foreign culture teaching in high schools,and analyzes the causes of these problems,and puts forward corresponding teaching strategies.Among them,the main problems in teaching are the low emphasis on foreign culture,the short teaching of foreign culture teaching to foreign literature,and the ineffective teaching strategies.The reasons for these problems lie in the inherent differences between Chinese and Western culture,the current system of examination oriented education and the knowledge defects of teachers.Correspondingly,the author puts forward three solutions: changing the ideological understanding of foreign culture,improving teachers' knowledge literacy,selecting related works carefully,effectively supplementing teaching contents,and applying comparative reading teaching method.The fourth part,"the old man and the sea" teaching design,the author takes this as the case,carries on the explanation to the teaching strategy,especially the contrast reading method.The author chose "Oedipus the king" and "Chinese red" happened in transit two works with the old man and the sea "by comparison,explains the different ideas of fate works in Chinese and Western culture,and analyzes the cultural roots of two view of destiny.Through the case,the author believes that the comparative reading of Chinese and foreign works based on the cultural perspective,can help students grasp the different cultural differences and similarities,but also more in-depth understanding of foreign literary works.
