Since reform and opening up,China has get great progress in all aspects of economic and social development, but at the same time, increasingly serious social stratification, the widening of the gap,a variety of potential social conflict emerging. It takes ten years to grow trees, but a hundred to rear people.Education plays an important role in the progress and development of the individual and the state, besides, education is one of the important means of human capital, the level often represents a person's level of human capital. However, the trend is gradually strengthening urban-rural inequalities in educational opportunities, one important reason is that the intergenerational transmission of education.Because of the existence of the intergenerational transmission of education, with a higher level of education of parents, their children have higher general level of education. One explanation is that the higher the level of education of parents are usually more willing to invest in the education of children, there are conditions to provide a better learning environment and nutrition conditions, thereby improving the competitiveness of their children's learning,to make their children's higher education.Another explanation is due to the higher levels of education, parents, their children inherited this ability to learn, strong learning ability makes their higher levels of education.Whatever the reason,if this phenomenon continues to develop, education layer will become more and more serious, seriously affecting social justice, hampering the development of individuals and society.Investigation on using China Health and Retirement Longitudinal Study(CHARLS)data, this paper chooses the appropriate variables, examines the characteristics of intergenerational transmission of education by means of household registration as a criterion for distinguishing urban and rural areas.Specifically, this papar firstly introduces the background of meaning, then combined with existing theory,to sort out the intergenerational transmission of education studies at home and abroad.Next, the model is constructed and entered into the empirical analysis. This paper mainly through descriptive statistical analysis, matrix analysis, transformation of education ordered Logit regression analysis to examine three aspects of education in intergenerational transmission of data,in order Logit regression analysis using factor analysis method to the correlative variables by factor substitution, and draws a conclusion. The research results show that with urban registration can make children have higher education levels, and parents of children education level has significant positive influence on the education level, are significant in the 1%significance level,at the same time, the number of children in the family for their children by education level also has a 1%level of significant effect, the more the number of children in the family, the lower their children by education level will be.Similarly, the political status of parents, the age of children and the gender of children are also significantly affected by education levels. In General, there is a big difference between urban and rural areas, efforts 'are needed to eliminate gender,urban-rural inequality in education.
