Aesthetics-oriented curriculum inquiry is a systematic research on the aesthetic characteristics of curriculum situations.It comprehends the problems and phenomena of curriculum with the concept of aesthetics,understanding curriculum as aesthetic text,namely work of art.Teaching,as a type of art,is the artistic creation process that teachers and students reinterpret and reconstruct curriculum.Teaching can be demonstrated with artistic skills and exquisite traits.The activity contents,questions,explanations,ways,methods can turn out to be manifestation forms of art.It searches the existence and significance of curriculum aesthetics.Moreover,it is a kind of qualitative research paradigm.In terms of the theoretical research and practical exploration of the teaching art,the curriculum aesthetics theory represented by E.W.Esiner is most significant in particular.His main research scope is art education.He maintains that what teaching needs most is artistry;the aesthetic experience of teaching is the best understanding and practice of education and curriculum.The nature of art lies in appreciating beauty and creating beauty.Music is the curriculum which can mostly show the aesthetic characteristics;it is also a good way for the all-round physical and psychological advancements of children.However,for a long time,educational pursuit which regards material gain as its purposes,skill training as the kernel makes people have partial understandings on the piano courses for children.Teaching deviates the aesthetics-centered value pursuit.The core of Eisner’s curriculum aesthetics is to pursue the attainment of experience reconstruction and the value orientation of aesthetic tastes,so as to accomplish the internal satisfactions of human being.It just accords with the internal values and demands of piano curriculum and teaching for children.The essence of educational criticism is to instruct people to really comprehend the educational objects and incidents,which lies in the fact the people can view the educational practical activities more comprehensively.Currently,the curriculum aesthetic inquiry is still at its early stage in China.Relevant researches are still insufficient.Researches which melt into specific disciplines are rare and precious.As such,the original intention and aspiration of this paper is to survey the current children’s piano curriculum and teaching from the perspective of curriculum aesthetics with educational criticism as its means;in addition,this paper is expected to propose guidelines for the future.
