Practical Study On Case Social Work Methods Applied In Community Correction

Community correction is a non-custodial punishment execution system that is being explored in China.It is through the integration of various social forces to allow targeted criminals to carry out targeted management,education and transformation activities in the community.The nature of non-custodial punishment in community corrections can enable criminals to re-socialize without breaking away from their lives and without leaving society.Community corrections contain both the punitive and recovery values of punishment.At present,the current system of community corrections in our country often emphasizes the nature of penalty,and it is easy to neglect the need for criminals to continue to socialize.Case work is one of the most basic methods of work in social work.Its core value concept lies in emphasizing the uniqueness and particularity of individuals and paying attention to the development of individual potential.The application of casework concepts and methods can foster the confidence and motivation of correctional personnel to return to society.At the same time,they can also provide direct individual correction services for correctional objects and strengthen the coordination and comprehensiveness of community corrections.Therefore,applying the case work method to community correction is a necessary exploration.This article selects Y-city,which is a typical representative of community corrections,to conduct on-the-spot investigation and research.Through the collation and analysis of documents,government documents,news information,etc.,and the field research methods of individual interviews and participatory surveys,Y City is selected.An in-depth analysis of the concept and methods of community correction,its own strengths and limitations has been conducted.It is proposed to explore how to effectively apply the concepts and methods of case work to community corrections from the perspective of casework professional methods.
