In the new College Entrance Examination(CEE),teaching evaluation reform is an important part of it.According to the State Council's "Implementation Opinions on Deepening the Examination Recruitment System Reform," CEE should be based on the overall quality evaluation-to establish sound standards and enhance evaluation,professionalism,independence and objectivity on these aspects: target stratification,multi-level evaluation,multiple participation,a complete segment of the educational quality monitoring and evaluation system.As a new view of teaching assessment,authentic assessment advocates the integration of evaluation with the teaching process.By allowing students to participate in solving real-life tasks,their knowledge of real life could be demonstrated,and develop their adaptability and creativity at the same time.Hence,in terms of knowledge and skills,including values of emotional attitudes,authentic assessment just responds to the demands of the new CEE,and helps to cultivate students' interest in learning,practical ability and innovative spirit.This research adopts literature analysis,investigation and research,observation and other methods with goals to initially explore new teaching evaluation concepts of authentic assessment in high school English teaching,to investigate authentic assessment in selected high schools,and to analyze reasons through questionnaires,interview and classroom observation.This study hopes to meet the requirements of the new CEE goals through authentic assessment methods.It also expects to improve the current evaluation of high school English teaching,to provide the possibility of authenticity evaluation,and to better promote a balanced development of students' abilities in all aspects.The paper conducts surveys to get the current state and main problems of authentic assessment existed in high school English teaching and learning.The results show that the current state of authentic assessment is not optimistic.Then the paper analyzes the reasons behind the problems of authentic assessment: the traditional view of exam-oriented education,the uneven distribution of educational resources,the teacher's own backward about assessment knowledge and the lack of professional quality,and the students' negative awareness of participation all restrict the implementation of authentic assessment.To solve the problems of authentic assessment existed in the high school English teaching and learning,the paper proposes corresponding solutions to the problems.For teachers,they should regularly update assessments and improve their professional qualifications reflecting quality education,establish the concept of democracy and instill to learners consciousness through mutual and self-assessment exercises,construct a set of operational authentic assessment system,which is one of the most effective methods to help teachers implement authenticity assessment,conduct authentic assessment by formulating authentic assessment criteria,develop authentic assessment tasks,formulate rubric and evaluate assessment task results.For students,they should know relevant evaluation skills to assess each other and learn peer reviews and other forms of evaluation.These countermeasures for authentic assessment can reduce teachers' work pressure,change students' assessment attitude,further optimize the teaching evaluation system and promote the reform of the new CEE.
