At present,due to the limitation of teaching materials,the selection of textbooks in classic novels is often“extracted”.The text of this kind of extracts is often the teaching mistake of teachers.Teachers often“see no forest in the trees”in the teaching of anthology novels.The teaching content is based on text fragments,and even breaks with the original,so that students also have problems of fragmentation and superficially in reading.At the same time,in recent years,the language education community has been increasingly vocal about the “reading of the entire book” but it is often tactically farther away,ignoring the most natural and close connection between the selected texts and the original works.It is not only the best material for teachers' reading extension teaching,but also the best entrance for students to enter the classic novel.Therefore,this paper links the excerpts in the lesson with the original book,and reduces the text of the excerpts to the specific style of the fiction,identifying the passage as a high school and trying to study the effective teaching strategies of excerpts of novels extending to reading outside the class.The first chapter,summarizes the current research status of related research areas,and defines three core elements: “excerpt”,“excerpt fiction” and “reading extension”.The second chapter discusses the necessity of extension teaching from excerpts to the original book according to the new curriculum standard,the characteristics of the excerpts,the orientation of the teaching materials,and the cognitive development of high school students.From the aspects of student's understanding of novels,the improvement of reading ability,the cultivation of reading habits,the cultural inheritance and the nourishment,the meaning of the extension of novel teaching reading can be seen.In the third chapter,based on the analysis of teaching cases,interviews between teachers and students and data from questionnaires,the problems of excerpt in high school novels are reviewed.The fourth chapter explores the reading extension strategies of novels selection from the following three aspects: reading strategies,reading plans,and reading evaluations.and puts forward the “plot causal connection”,“character polyhedral track”,“environmental key directions”,“subject pluralistic thinking” and “narrative secret unlock” five extension strategy suitable for novels.In addition,it will supplement the reading plan and effective reading evaluation in the future,supervise and promote it,and improve the whole chain of reading and extension.
