Task-based language teaching approach is the most popular teaching method over the world now.Task-based language teaching departs from real-world tasks.Through doing the tasks,not drilling the words and sentences,students experience the language and emotion.The teachers' questionnaire in the thesis showed that 82% teachers often use task-based language teaching approach.That's the most common language method used now.However,the assessment research in the TBLT is in the stage of fumbling,with many shortages in the practice.The research in the thesis showed that the shortages of the assessment in the TBLT are as follows: the alienation of the assessments and the task;the absence of the students' priorities;and the most common used paper tests after tasks.Therefore,how to improve the assessments in the TBLT so as to increase the efficiency and enhance the integrated development of the students is the research purpose of the thesis.First,we get a general idea of the research status of the TBLT and the TBLA at home and abroad by document research.Then we can understand the definition,the classification and the pattern of TBLT as well as the function,classification and methods of TBLA.Second,the deficiencies in the assessment in the primary task-based language teaching are to be found in teachers' questionnaire.Third,the author practices the improved assessments through the three stages of TBLT.Finally,the author proves the effectiveness of the practice through task-based tests and students' questionnaire.The consequence of the practice gives us some enlightenments.Assessments are throughout the whole processes of the task.In the pre-task phase,activating the known and involving in the task,students arouse the cognitive drive of themselves through the encouragement from teachers and the attraction of the task.In the while-task phase,assessments are instant.They can be the guidance of the teacher,the help from the classmates,or the adjustment in the hearts of the students.Effective instant assessment can promote the students to complete the tasks successfully.In the post-task phase,assessments can help students to rethink.For example,students can rethink their behaviors in the task through filling the rubrics.Through collecting the assessments to the portfolios,students can compare their works over a period of time and find improvements or shortages of themselves.The assessments in the task-based language teaching can enhance the language ability effectively,improve the cooperative learning,arouse the confidence in learning,intensify the inner motivation,cultivate self-assessing ability,and enjoy the English lessons more.Therefore,the thesis has practical significance and reference value in the primary English teaching.
