The long-term development of universities closely connecte with work of personnel.In this process,administrative staffs are the main forces,whose work hold close association with management level of university.Nowadays,how to introduce and retain intellectuals,implement human resources management with a high efficiency,and maximize the value of intellectuals becoming the key to the development of universities.Performance appraisal,as a pivotal part of personnel assessment,plays a decisive role in promoting efficiency and effectiveness of personnel and enlarging reservoir of excellent staff.This thesis analysis on the performance appraisal of the personnel of Sichuan X University.Based on the academic research and pertinent literature of performance appraisal,the paper makes synthetic utilization of the literature research,the investigation to dissect the present situation of the performance appraisal of the administrative staff of this university.In this way,problems that have existed in the assessment process could be summarized,to which effective solutions are proposed and adopted in the thesis.It proposes some measures to optimize performance appraisal of administrative staff so as to improve effectiveness of assessment,thus promoting work efficiency of administrative staff,enhancing school administration management,and gradually achieving the common aim of development of university and individual.The thesis consists of six chapters.The first chapter covers the background,purpose,content and literature review.The second chapter combines the theoretical concept of performance appraisal.The third chapter analyzes the current situation of performance appraisal of administrative staff in Sichuan X University.The fourth chapter summarizes problems that have appeared in the performance appraisal system of administrative staff in university.The fifth chapter suggests the optimization plan of the performance appraisal of administrative personnel in Sichuan X University.The sixth chapter is the conclusion.According to the research,the performance appraisal of administrative staff in Sichuan X University has the following major problems: faint consciousness and blurring aim of appraisal,sketchy content of assessment,outdated and simplistic methods,lack of incentive mechanism,and inadequate communication of assessment results and utilization of feedback.To tackle these problems,the thesis comes up with optimization measures.It proposes two levels of management(department and university)and classification management,uses methodology of target management,“360 degree assessment” and incentive mechanism,strikes a balance among the proportion of assessment indicators,places an emphasis on verbal communication before and after the appraisal,utilizes the assessment results in the administrative work,and highlights cycling and extension of these results.The optimization measures advised will help to improve the enthusiasm,initiative and creativity of the administrative staff,manifest the management ideology of “people-oriented” in universities,and realize the common development vision of university and individual.Therefore,it is of significance to make further research on the performance appraisal of administrative personnel in Sichuan X University.
