People in the whole society have focused on the improvement of students' quality on biological science since the new biology curriculum was conducted in high school.Although teachers are devoted to promoting their professional skills all the time,few care about their inner happiness or pain.To begin with,I want to analyze the current situation of Biology teaching in high school.On one hand,it contains much content with less score proportion in the college entrance examination.On the other hand,the teacher is in charge of three classes on average so that he/she has to repeat the same teaching content for at least three times.As a Biology teacher in high school,I am eager to explore the phenomenon of job burnout in Biology teachers,and find out the main reasons for it.Based on the reasons,I will put forward some strategies to help teachers like me get rid of the dilemma,and improve the quality of our lives as well as education.This study adopts two adapted questionnaires,that is,the High School Biology Teacher Job Burnout Questionnaire and the Influencing Factors on Biology Teacher Job Burnout Questionnaire,to investigate the job burnout existing among teachers.Through the analysis of the data,it comes to the following conclusions:1.Generally speaking,the job burnout situation of the high school Biology teachers in Ganzhou is not severe,but some teachers have got obvious symptoms of job burnout.Emotional exhaustion contributes most to this phenomenon.2.From the perspective of demographic variable:(1)There is distinct difference between female and male participant teachers(P<0.05)in terms of emotional exhaustion.Male teachers' exhaustion level is significantly higher than that of female teachers.(2)Upon the dimension of teaching time and the low sense of achievement,there also exist remarkable differences.This conclusion results from the comparison among several groups of teachers with different teaching time.These teachers are classified into one group with less than five years teaching time,and another group with 6-10 years teaching time.By that analogy,the participates are divided into relevant groups.What's more,two groups,with 6-10 years teaching time and 16-20 years teaching time,are the peak intervals of the job burnout,which are also the crucial periods of its appearance.(3)Besides,academic rank can also have a great impact on job burnout.This thesis finds that the second-grade teachers have much lower level than senior teachers when it refers to sense of achievement.(4)Moreover,wage level,which is closely related to the academic rank,plays an important role and leads to significant difference.(5)In addition,the reasons why they choose to be a Biology teacher can result in the distinctdifference.(6)At last but not least,there is no significant difference among the teachers,concerning the following factors: educational background,grade,school of various types and history.3.To sum up,it is the three main factors,including workload,school organization and the whole society,that have the most influence on the job burnout for the participants.Thus,in order to improve the current situation,the society,the school and teachers themselves should work together.
