Job Burnout,also known as Occupation Burnout,is a kind of delayed reaction of an individual whose emotional and interpersonal pressure lasts a long time in his or her career.It consists of three dimensions:emotional exhaustion,depersonalization and reduced personal accomplishment.Job burnout is a kind of occupational disease,which has become a common abnormal in all professions in today's society.It not only affects the physical and mental health and happiness of individuals engaged in occupation burnout,but also leads to a negative relationship between individuals and others,as well as between individuals and the community.Sociologists and researchers are increasingly concerned about job burnout in all kinds of jobs.As a special profession,teacher is a professional job concerned with helping students.Teachers need to interact with students continuously and should have good mental health.As the "guardian" of students in school,teachers in charge of a class(ICOC teachers for short)need to pay attention to the healthy development of students and various requirements and expectations from parents all the time.They are not only faced with increasingly heavy teaching and management tasks,but also burdened with high expectations from the society and the pressure of their multiple roles.In the course of education and teaching,ICOC teachers have been suffering from career maladjustment and somatization due to psychological negative effects,and the current situation of job burnout has been eroding the passion and creativity of ICOC teachers.As the backbone of school teaching and moral education,the ICOC teachers need not only to communicate directly with students all the time,but also connect with other teachers and communicate with parents.As the link between family-school education,the task of ICOC teachers takes up a lot of time and is concerned with many aspects,which brings ICOC teachers great pressure from school,parents,other teachers and students,making them in the "worst-hit area" of job burnout.In the investigation of X High School in Kaifeng,the author finds that the school lacks relevant systems and methods to prevent and alleviate the burnout of ICOC teachers.School administrators and even the ICOC teachers themselves cannot scientifically understand and timely be aware of the worsening negative emotions,thus they have no systematic and scientific understanding of "job burnout".The ultimate outcomes of job burnout of ICOC teachers will lead to the teachers' mental fatigue,excessive anxiety,disharmonious interpersonal relationship,weakening team competitiveness and innovation,which will ultimately affect the quality of the cultivation of the students,and in turn,affects the realization of the whole national education goals.This research paper refers to many theories about job burnout at home and abroad and also based on the eight years' working experience as an ICOC teacher in a private high school.This paper uses documentation method,observation method,questionnaire survey method and interview method to study the current job burnout situation of ICOC teachers in Kaifeng X high school.By developing "Kaifeng X high school ICOC teacher job burnout scale" and inviting all the ICOC teachers to participate in the questionnaire survey,the author analyses the data respectively from the "sex","grade" and "years being ICOC teachers".After further analysing the result of the 35 interviews with the ICOC teachers,the author finds out the reasons and puts forward the corresponding strategies.The study finds that the overall level of teacher burnout in Kaifeng X High School is slight,but the "emotional exhaustion" dimension is relatively serious.The job burnout of female ICOC teachers is more serious than that of male ICOC teachers.The situation of ICOC teachers burnout in senior one,senior two and senior three shows a decreasing trend.The correlation between "years being ICOC teachers" and job burnout is not obvious.Chapter 5 puts forward some corresponding strategies,in combination with the current situation of Kaifeng X high school in the hope of improving the job burnout situation of ICOC teachers in Kaifeng X high school and get more people to understand the working situation of ICOC teachers.It is expected that school leaders should pay more attention to the job burnout phenomenon among ICOC teachers.Scientific and effective measures should be taken to lighten the negative impact of job burnout,enabling the ICOC teachers to feel more happiness and more sense of value and dignity.At the same time,the author also hopes the countermeasures can offer a methodological reference to the school management department.
