Since the Reform and Opening up, the level of China's economic development gets steadily improved and the macroeconomic situation turns to be better. Under this background, the domestic real estate and construction industry is getting fast development. Engineering consulting industry, as an important derivative industry of the real estate and construction industry, has also got leap-forward development, and is gradually becoming a key factor to ensure project construction activities function efficiently. However, with the opening of China's construction market, foreign engineering consulting firms have poured into the domestic, and showed many advantages such as advanced level of professional technique, wide coverage of contract business, perfect service system and so on. In contrast, the disadvantage of China's engineering consulting firms' market competitiveness is increasingly obvious. Therefore, it is necessary to study the sustainable competitiveness of engineering consulting firms in China. At present, there is no standardized assessment approach for the industry, which will restrict the subsequent development of the domestic engineering consulting companies. In view of this, the research focus of this paper will be locked as analyzing the evaluation index for sustainable competitiveness of domestic engineering consulting firms and studying the relevant data deeply. Then innovatively build a complete evaluation index system for sustainable competitiveness of engineering consulting firm. Improve the management level and economic benefits of the enterprise by the quantitative evaluation of competitiveness. Consolidate their strength and improve their market position in the industry.This paper focuses on the point "sustainable" firstly, starting from the analysis of industry present situation, drawing on related research in domestic and international engineering consulting services development process, then deeply tease out whose strengths and weaknesses then. On this basis, refine the relationship between the "Sustainable Competitiveness" and the "competitiveness". After that, by introducing the enterprises sustainable competitiveness theory, Combined with the study of engineering consulting products and transaction main body, interpret the "Sustainable Competitiveness" from three dimensions,the integration concept, product concept and knowledge concept.Secondly, according to the business environment of engineering consulting enterprise and constituent elements of sustainable competitiveness, build sustainable competitiveness parameter model of engineering consulting enterprises in China. And through comparing the applicability of different methods, choose the comprehensive multi-level index evaluation method for making a deep exploration of the evaluation of sustainable competitiveness of engineering consulting enterprise. Then determine the final evaluation index system by literature study method and Delphi method. Calculate the weight of index system combining with FAHP. Combine quantitative research with qualitative research and create a complete evaluation index system in order to measure the sustainable competitiveness of engineering consulting enterprises. Evaluate and position the selected enterprises through the case analysis and find out their advantages and disadvantages, thus ensuring the applicability and accuracy of index evaluation.Finally, according to evaluation results of sustainable competitiveness, select the first-class enterprise as the practice basis of learning. Analyze enterprise from human resources, management ability, technical skills and management system. Build the sustainable competitiveness in accordance with of their own characteristics.
