With the progress of science and technology and the continuous development of productivity, people's consumption level continues to improve and competition among enterprises intensifies, making it a pressing task for enterprises to improve their core competitiveness. Meanwhile, with economic globalization, more enterprises are engaged in international trade activities.In the new context, supply chain management concept is introduced into the international trade industry. Supply chain management is an advanced model adopted in current business management. It stressed that, in accordance with the enterprise's own characteristics, the key businesses should be paid more attention, while non-critical businesses are assigned to excellent enterprises from other areas of expertise. In this way, the advantages of various enterprises are exerted to the greatest to better serve the ultimate customers and to improve the core competitiveness of enterprises. Container shipping is the most important mode of transportation in international trade, so container shipping enterprises in the whole supply chain must convert ideas and achieve customer value more effectively in the new situation.Excellent process can help enterprises succeed and distinguish them from others. As a result, from the perspective of process optimization, with M Container Shipping Company as an example, this paper discusses export business process optimization solutions for international container shipping companies.By means of literature review, quantitative analysis and case study, with the typical customer T of M Container Shipping Company as the specific research object, this paper studies its export business process optimization solutions and then extends these solutions to international container shipping enterprises and even the whole international container shipping industry.This paper is divided into five parts:Section one describes the current export business process of Customer T and utilizes control charts to measure its performance.Section two uses theories and tools like fishbone diagram,5WHY analysis, Pareto diagram to find the quality problems in the current export business process of Customer T, analyze various reasons behind these problems and sort these reasons in accordance with the extent of the impact. Then, brainstorming, Six Thinking Hats analysis and ECRS quality analysis to get the export business process optimization solution of Customer T.Section three launches the pilot program of export business process optimization of Customer T and analyzes its results based on comprehensive communication and training of all international shipping participators.Section four conducts several rounds of analyses and perfection of the above results under the PDSA principles and then carries out comprehensive promotion of the export business process optimization of Customer T. Furthermore, the effects of the comprehensive effects are assessed and measured to develop relevant follow-up tracking system.Section five starts from necessity and feasibility to discuss the possibility of expanding the experience drawn from Customer T to the whole international container shipping industry and to propose the possible risks and considerations.The findings show that the optimized process of Customer T is more stable with lower variation and better predictability. Thus, it can be concluded that, M Company not only becomes the most stable link in the international trade supply chain of Customer T, but also helps improve the core competitiveness of Customer T. Through demonstration, the relevant experience drawn from the case also applies to other international container shipping enterprise and even the whole international container shipping industry.
