With the sound and rapid development of China's economy and the expand of the market, China has attracted more and more foreign companies or foreign-related institutions. With the upcoming of international talent main-stream, there is also an increasing trend of population for foreigners to work in China, especially the top management officers in foreign-invested companies or joint ventures in China. Those foreign executives are assigned by their headquarters to work in China's office or lead their Chinese team to expand new markets here. They come from all over the world with different language and cultures, after their arrival, they are inevitable confronting all kinds of pressures and problems regarding cross-cultural adaptation,such as loneliness and lost, different languages and culture, disrespect by locals or colleagues which are main causes for their early leave from China or resign.This paper is studying from the perspective of cross-cultural adaptation, getting acknowledgment of the stress condition and contributors, impact upon the foreign executives and stress coping from the actual survey results. We will detail our study in the following five parts:First, the author has a brief introduction of the background, research scope,study object, purpose, significance, study tools and procedures, and general ideas of this paper.Second, the paper explains related concepts regarding the study, including cross-cultural adaptation, defines the study objects and fields, the influence factors of cross-cultural adaptation stress, and stress release coping, etc.The third part is mainly a description of the study tools applied in this paper,including quantitative study and qualitative study.The following part is the detailed study of the information collecting from questionnaires and interviews, we concluded the cross-cultural adaptation stress situation, impact, analysis of the stress contributors and stress coping of cross-cultural adaptation regarding the top management executives of transnational enterprises in China.Final part is the conclusion and suggestion, through the study and summarized data of the fourth part regarding this paper, we reached a summary regarding ourstudy, and the author also put forward some feasible suggestions in view of the present intercultural adaptation situation.
