With the increasing number and scale of investments in development and construction of industrial automation projects, the types of projects are more and more various, technical difficulty is increasing and organizations becomes growing complicated, and factors influencing project implementation is more and more complicated, which brings a bigger challenge for project development management.A(Group) company is a manufacturer on global high quality pipes and the thesis revolves around the research on the project schedule management of automatic cutting production line equipment. The thesis adopts the critical chain technology of genetic algorithm and optimize schedule of equipment manufacturing project of automatic cutting production line to work out project schedule of minimum total duration under various constraint conditions.First the thesis introduces critical path method and critical chain technology in detail(two kinds of project schedule methods) that is widely applied at present, design WBS of automatic cutting production line project, setup network graph and analyzes related data and then constructs schedule management model based on critical path method. Deal with problems according to related data of the project and work out critical path schedule and then reallocates project tasks by using resource equilibrium theory and resource allocation theory to get the project schedule of resource optimization. At last, combines genetic algorithm with critical chain technology to realize the optimization of the project. Genetic algorithm is used to seek project portfolio of every task which makes the minimum total duration within duration interval. Fitness function of genetic algorithm is taken as project total duration.by analyze and comparison we could see the contrasts it by using critical path method or using optimization design plan of critical chain technology adopting genetic algorithm. Obviously the latter have more advantage.
