As the major body of banks'services for customers, bank tellers not only presents social images of the bank, but also act as a leading role in preventing risks from banks. Performance assessment can effectively promote increasing of bank tellers' working level, working quality, service attitude, etc. Therefore, most commercial banks have established performance assessment system. However, problems in implementing process often prevent banks' performance assessment systems from fully play its role. In such a situation, the paper makes analysis on ZZ bank's existing performance assessment, explores problems in it and puts forward corresponding optimization plan.At present, there are some problems in ZZ bank's performance assessment for tellers, for instance:unclear post work and responsibility analysis, simple indicator setting, sole responsibility system preventing bank tellers'from further developing, incomplete performance assessment contents , and untimely application of performance assessment results. The causes for the problems include:needs of work shifts, shortage of human resource management, lack of professional guidance and attention of executive levels, needs of talents development and inner management simplification, application of KPI method and shortage of human resource management, weakness of ZZ bank's management, etc.Based on the problems, causes and existing performance assessment of bank tellers, ZZ bank's tellers are relocated in order to add more information to content. Some indicators are illustrated, including product sales, customer maintenance, portfolio, working quality, working ability, working attitude as well as other indicators. Optimization plan increases assessment for working quality, working ability, working attitude, self-learning and training, at the same time, decreases weight of business assessment. The new plan can effectively stimulate bank tellers to improve working ability and improve service level. Thus, it can fully play its role in stimulating bank tells.Meanwhile, some safeguard measures are also put forward in order to guarantee smooth development of the new plan, including:clear leading group and responsibility of every department, establish professional performance assessment team, improve application of performance assessment results in salary adjustment, post change, promotion, training and professional career development. Application of these measures could create a favorable environment for smooth running of performance assessment optimization plan.
