| In recent years,with the gradual implementation of various financial openness policies in China,the market environment faced by China’s banking industry has undergone tremendous changes,bringing new opportunities for the development of banking industry as well as unprecedented challenges.In the face of increasingly fierce horizontal competition,commercial banks should vigorously promote strategic transformation,improve their competitiveness and seek for new growth points.In the process of strategic transformation,the most important thing is the strategic transformation of grass-roots employees.Among them,the top priority is the strategic transformation of bank teller,as they are the front-end staff of the bank providing direct services to customers and the backbone of risk prevention and control.Taiyuan Branch of HX Bank has become a vital medium-sized bank among competitors in financial market in Taiyuan and even in Shanxi Province.However,in recent years,due to the changes of internal and external environment,Taiyuan Branch of HX Bank is facing the dilemma of increasing staff mobility and turnover rate,decreasing working enthusiasm and job satisfaction,which has seriously restricted the strategic transformation of Taiyuan Branch of HX Bank.As one of the important tools of human resource management,performance appraisal can effectively motivate employees,improve their satisfaction and reduce turnover rate.Under the current environment,it is urgent to set up a scientific and reasonable performance appraisal system.This paper takes Taiyuan Branch of HX Bank as the research object.First of all,this paper introduced the research background and significance of bank teller performance appraisal,and summarized domestic and overseas relevant theories and research results in this field,laying a foundation for subsequent research.Secondly,by using research methods such as questionnaire survey and interview,in-depth investigation was conducted on the current situation of the performance appraisal of the teller in Taiyuan Branch of HX Bank.The existing problems of bank’s performance appraisal in the indicators,procedure,applications and other aspects were summarized based on the analysis of the investigation results.Thirdly,the reasons for the problems were analyzed according to the present situation in Taiyuan Branch of HX Bank.Then,based on the balanced scorecard,key performance indicators and 360-degree evaluation methods,the idea of optimizing teller performance evaluation was put forward,more scientific and reasonable performance evaluation indicators and weights were designed,and more standardized performance evaluation procedure and more comprehensive performance evaluation application were made.Finally,supporting measures for performance appraisal were raised,for leading to a smooth implementation of it.This paper is written for improving the present situation of performance appraisal in Taiyuan Branch of HX Bank,enhancing tellers’ working enthusiasm and satisfaction,and strengthening internal cohesion,laying the foundation of strategic transformation in Taiyuan Branch of HX bank.Meanwhile,it can provide some reference in performance appraisal for other similar commercial banks. |
