Association of Southeast Asian Nations(ASEAN)and China was among the first signatories of the free trade agreement(FTA)in the economy,the two sides signed in November 2002,"China-ASEAN Framework Agreement on Comprehensive Economic Cooperation",January 1,2010,China-ASEAN Free Trade Area(CAFTA)officially started.China and ASEAN has been through the "golden years" of economic and trade cooperation and development,the total amount of the rapid growth of bilateral trade,bilateral trade volume in 2002 from $ 54.8 billion in 2013 to grow to $ 443.6 billion,an increase of approximately 8 times.2014,China-ASEAN bilateral trade amounted to $ 480.394 billion,an increase of 8.3%,up 4.9 percentage points higher than the growth rate of China's overall foreign trade growth,highlighting China's trade with ASEAN good development trend.ASEAN has for six consecutive years to become China's third largest trading partner and fourth largest export market,and China has been ASEAN's largest trading partner.China's exports to ASEAN countries structure,the export competitiveness of manufactured goods is growing,but more slowly rise,and Chinese manufactured goods as a whole in the export has only weak competitive advantages,coupled with primary products exports are no longer competitive,and therefore China should clearly enhance the export competitiveness of ASEAN feasibility and necessity to expand the competitiveness of China's exports to ASEAN headroom.Maritime Silk Road of the 21 st century(the "New Silk Road on the sea")is a strategic concept in October 2013 during a visit ASEAN General Secretary Xi Jinping proposed.Based on China-ASEAN join hands to build a "New Silk Road on the sea," the macro background,based on creating China-ASEAN Free Trade Area "upgrade" key nodes,grab another China-ASEAN "diamond decade" a new historical opportunity,upgrade potential issues to explore China-ASEAN export competitiveness,research to enhance the competitiveness of our exports to ASEAN,improve trade structure,promote industrial restructuring and upgrading of export has great theoretical research value and practical significance.The thesis is divided preface,five chapters and conclusion of seven parts.The first part of the preamble.Introduces the background and significance of the topic,and related research literatures were combed.The second part introduces the theoretical basis of this study.The third part analyzes the status quo of the competitiveness of China's exports to ASEAN,the total export trade,trade product competitiveness index(TC),revealed comparative advantage index and trade complementarity four aspects of our country's export competitiveness of ASEAN systematic analysis of the status quo.The fourth part of the impact on the export competitiveness of ASEAN factors.From both internal and external factors,it analyzes the factors affecting China's exports to ASEAN competitiveness.Among them,the internal factors including foreign direct investment,national policies and common language;external factors include economic size,per capita GDP,geographical distance,exchange rates,the regional economic cooperation.The fifth part of the empirical research to upgrade the competitiveness of exports to ASEAN under the New Silk Road on the sea background.By 2002--2013 panel data of China and ASEAN empirical analysis and the results show "New Silk Road on the sea" construction of China-ASEAN have a positive impact on export competitiveness,there is a potential to upgrade and expand space for China's exports to ASEAN competitiveness.Part VI,under the background of the new Silk Road on the sea route to upgrade the competitiveness of ASEAN exports to explore,including: improving the structure of China's export commodities and enhance export competitiveness;promoting infrastructure investment banking operations in Asia,accelerate the construction of transport networks;promote the internationalization of RMB process to jointly cope with the international financial crisis;strengthen national port city network construction,expand trade headroom;take advantage of maritime cooperation fund to strengthen maritime partnerships and so on.The last part is the research conclusions.
