The district heating in China has the problem of high energy consumption, low efficiency, high pollution and other issues. It not only wastes a large number of energy resources, but also seriously affect the quality of the environment. The energy saving of district heating has become a key link in China's energy saving. This paper describes the development status and the trend of district heating in China. It introduces the current situation of energy consumption for China's district heating. The energy consumption of China's urban district heating is large, and the impact on the environment is large, and the research for the energy consumption of urban energy consumption is very necessary. As the main energy of China's urban district heating is coal,so the main purpose of this paper is to study the coal consumption of concentrated heating.Because the coal consumption of urban district heating is equal to the product of per unit area's consumption with the urban district heating's area. So this article studies the energy consumption of central heating from the unit area's coal consumption(the central heating's energy efficiency) and the central heating area.It analyzes the influencing factors of energy consumption and pollution emissions for district heating from four aspects including the heat production side, the heat transfer side, the heat use side, and the objective environment. In addition, it uses the index of the coal consumption of unit area expressing the energy efficiency of district heating. It calculates the coal consumption of per unit area for district heating of each province(municipalities),and analyses their otherness. On the other hand, it constructs the forecast model of housing demand increment(demand increment of district heating area), which is based on the M-W model and the grey GM(1,1) model. The model takes the city's total population as the basic variable, and it predicts the total heating area of each province(municipalities) from 2016 to 2025.Combined with the future coal consumption of unit area calculated in the third chapter,as well as the forecast of the total area for each area of district heating in the future, it forecasts the total amount of coal consumption of each area from 2016 to 2025. So we can have a quantitative and intuitive presentation for the growth trend of the coal consumption of district heating. In addition, in order to analysis the energy saving potential of district heating, set two energy-saving situation of medium energy level and higher level of energy saving. It uses the three conditions including improving the network transmission efficiency, improving the boiler efficiency and reducing heat consumption of building as the condition for situationhypothesis. It analyses the potential of energy saving in unit coal consumption, and the energy saving potential of the total coal consumption for district heating of China, so that it can provide data support to formulate relevant energy-saving policies. According to the above analysis results, it expounds the control strategy and concrete measures of the energy saving and emission reduction of district heating from three aspects including the heat production side, the heat transfer side, the heat use side.
