Distribution center is an important node in the supply chain, plays a key role in logistics distribution system. It has characteristics of complexity and randomness, so often there are mnay of risks and uncertain factors in the process of planning and operation of distribution center, if it is only through previous "brainstorming" completely by man's subjective judgment of the qualitative analysis method to assess and verify planning scheme, which can bring huge mistakes to decision-making. The results may be unrelated to the actual situation. all of these require the overall performance by further quantitative analysis for the distribution center operation system. Simulation is one of the effective means of quantitative analysis of the logistics system, can combine the actual complex logistics system with strict mathematical model, through simulation intuitive, simple way to solve problems of distribution center operations.In this paper, the discrete event simulation modeling idea is applied to study of delivery process simulation and resource optimization in distribution center. Taking lenovo distribution center of Lanzhou as an example, on the basis of analysising the specific functions and processes about distribution center, formulating the boundary of the system simulation and setting the target of system simulation, after making reasonable assumptions,the author applies Extendsim software to build simulation model of the logistics operation process of the DC. After operating model, with queue features, resource utilization, and order circle time to analyze the output to identify the main bottleneck of affecting the distribution center operational efficiency,qualitative improvement measures are given. Finally,the target function is minimum of operating cost, loaders, forklifts, carts, trucks number as decision variables, building the optimization model to get the number of rational allocation of resources of Distribution center, using quantitative means gives a scientific and reasonable suggestions for distribution center operation system.The paper aims at advancing a new method of quantitative analysis and decision making, then applies the advanced simulation software to a study of process simulation and resource resource optimization for logistics center.
