Since the production of creative outcomes in organization increasingly depends on team collaboration, team creativity has become a new focus in the literature of creativity. The relationship between supervisor and team creativity has become a hot topic as well. However, the existing researches on the relationship between supervisor and team creativity always focus on leadership style or certain behavior of supervisors. As an important creativity-related characteristic of supervisor, supervisor creative self-efficacy has not caught enough attention it deserves.In order to explore the mechanism between creative self-efficacy of supervisor and team creativity,this study models that mean level of LMX within a team and team creative efficacy transfer the influence of creative self-efficacy of supervisor on team creativity with Self-efficacy Theory and LMX Theory. Questionnaire survey is applied to data collection. All scales are selected from international authoritative journals. The sample is collected form 11 software enterprises in Shenzhen. We use SPSS19.0 and AMOS7.0 to estimate the reliability and validity of the scale. We use multivariate linear regression analysis to verify hypotheses.Through theoretical deduction and empirical research, this study shows that creative self-efficacy of supervisor has a positive impact on mean level of LMX within a team. Creative self-efficacy of supervisor has a positive impact on team creative efficacy. Mean level of LMX within a team mediates the relationship between creative self-efficacy of supervisor and team creative efficacy. Mean level of LMX within a team has a positive impact on team creativity. Team creative efficacy has a positive impact on team creativity. Team creative efficacy fails to mediate the relationship between mean level of LMX within a team. This research contributes to the development of the creativity theory, and it will have a reference value for practice in business management.
