Preparation And Properties Of Latex-free Carpets

In this paper,low-melting-point hot-staple fiber and low-melting polyester filament were used as carpet adhesive to bond the velvet.Two kinds of samples were prepared under the condition of temperature and pressure by thermal bonding method in the bonding machine:One is latex-free tufted carpet samples,according to the use of low-melting-point short-fiber and low-melting-point polyester filament use and proportion of different design of the five samples,which are labeled A,B,C,D,E;Another kind is the latex-free woven carpet sample,according to the use of different weft design of the two samples,labeled F,G.According to the national standard,three kinds of properties were tested in this paper,such as the pull out force,peel strength and dimensional stability.the test results were analyzed,which can be concluded as follow:1.The pull out force follows the same change rule with both the temperature and the pressure.When the pressure is the same,the pull-out force of the pile increases with the increase of temperature and the maximum increase is achieved at 160 ?.when the temperature is above 160 ? the increment of pull out force for the pile is very small;When the temperature is the same,the pull-out force of the pile increases with the increase of pressure and the maximum increase is achieved at 0.03 MPa.when the pressure is above 0.05 MPa,the increment of pull out force for the pile is very small.Therefore,the optimum heating temperature is 160 ? and the pressure is 0.03MPa for this test.2.In the tuft pull-out force test,the best sample in the latex-free tufted carpet sample is the D-type sample and the most suitable PA hot-melt fiber netting is 120g/m2.The pull out force of the sample reaches the national standard value,the carpet feels soft and offered with the good flexibility and light weight.Furthermore,the production process is simple and environmentally friendly.3.In the backing peel strength test,the peel peeling strength of the warp sample in the G sample is less than that of the weft sample.4.No latex weaving Wilton carpets,sample F and sample G of the pile pull-out strength have reached the national standard value.Under the same test conditions,the pull force of the sample F is slightly larger than that of the sample G;the woven shrinkage of the sample F was low,and the weft shrinkage rate of the under-carpet machine was 0%,the down-shrinkage rate of the sample G was 3.6%.Sample F is not only lager than the sample G in the pile pull-out force,but also effectively solve the problem of weft under the carpet machine.
