Objective:Dr.Hu Xi-shu is a well-known TCM(Traditional Chinese Medicine)master of classic formula school in modern China.In clinical work,he did not use syndrome differentiation of zang-fu viscera,but uses six pattern and formula-pattern syndrome differentiation.In other words,he identifies six pattern firstly,then differentiates formula-pattern,emphasize this idea that differentiating formula-pattern is the tip of the syndrome differentiation.He possesses outstanding clinical skills,which has reached the acme of perfection.Arthralgia syndrome is a common disease in clinic,has long been listed as one of the most difficult diseases.Arthralgia syndrome is been selected as the starting point of the study,which explores the specific application of six pattern and formula-pattern syndrome differentiation,then broadens ideas of treatment to improve the curative effect.Methods:With the traditional method of literature research,the study summarizes Hu Xi-shu's prescription medicine theory and the development of this theoretical system which is developed by FENG Shi-lun who is the student of Hu Xi-shu,and discusses how to how to apply this theory used in Arthralgia syndrome,respectively from six pattern,formula-pattern and herb.Through case analysis method,this research investigates how to apply the Arthralgia syndrome treatment rules in clinical practice.Results:1.The paper summarizes Hu Xi-shu's prescription medicine theory and the development of this theoretical system:?Professor FENG Shi-lun through the research on formation of the theory of classical prescription,puts forward clearly for the first time there are two Chinese medicine system,namely the theoretical system of prescription medicine based on Shanghanlun and the theoretical system of medical classics based on Huangdineijing.?Inheriting the method of categorizing formulas to syndrome and disease-bit,Professor FENG Shi-lun has categorized 262 formulas in Shanghanzabinglun to six pattern for the first time according to the theoretical system of prescription medicine based on six pattern and eight principle.?Professor FENG Shi-lun believes that Jueyin disease is heat in the upper and cold in the lower,cold is the main aspect of Jueyin disease,Chai Hu Gui Zhi Gan Jiang Tang is the typical prescription of treating Jueyin disease which is Half Super Half Inter Yin Syndrome.?Professor FENG Shi-lun believes that the formula which is based on the theoretical system of classical medicine,even called current prescription,also is known as classical prescription,not limited to the formula in Shanghanabinglun.2.The paper sums up the unique ideas of classical formula medicine in treating arthralgia syndrome,that is to say,six pattern and formula-pattern syndrome differentiation which is firstly identifying six pattern,then differentiating formula-pattern,and obtaining prescription corresponding to the syndrome to cure the diseases.3.The common six pattern of treating arthralgia syndrome are summarized.Arthralgia syndrome is most in Shaoyin pattern,but also in other pattern,especially multi-pattern,such as diseases involving Shaoyin and Taiyin,diseases involving Shaoyin Yangming and Taiyin,diseases involving Taiyang and Yangming,diseases involving Taiyang and Shaoyang,diseases involving Taiyang and Taiyin,diseases involving Taiyang Yangming and Taiyin,diseases involving Jueyin and Taiyin.4.The common formula-patterns of treating arthralgia syndrome are summarized,including Gui Zhi jia Zhu Fu Tang,Ge Gen jia Zhu Fu Tang,Gui Zhi Shao Yao Zhi Mu Tang,Erjia Long Mu jia Lin Zhu Tang,Ma Huang Xin Ren Yi Yi Ren Gan Cao Tang,Chai Hu Gui Zhi Tang,Fang Ji Hxuang Qi Tang,Yue Bi jia Zhu Tang,Chai Hu Gui Zhi Gan Jiang Tang and Dang Gui Shao Yao San,Fu Zi Tang,Dang Gui Si Ni Tang.5.The common herbs of treating arthralgia syndrome are summarized,which can be roughly divided into three categories:?for relieving exterior and sweating,such as Gui Zhi,Ma Huang,Sheng Jiang,Ge Gen and Huang Qi,which act on the exterior of the human body;?for eliminating dampness and diuresis,such as Bai Zhu and Yi Yi Ren,which act on the interior of the human body;?for stimulating function,such as Fu Zi,which acts on the whole body.
