In response to the global "Chinese hot" and the promotion of Hanban's Chinese language project, The national office of teaching Chinese as a foreign language launched the "Chinese volunteer teachers" project in 2004.Since the project started up to now, more than 20,000 Chinese volunteer teachers have been sent to more than 100 countries, including countries from Asia, Europe, Africa, America and Oceania.These Chinese volunteer teachers teach Chinese in Confucius institutes and Confucius classrooms all over the world. They are the main force of Chinese language teaching in overseas nowadays.Chinese volunteer teachers work in overseas,the condition of their cross-cultural adaptation will affect their teaching directly, so the question is worth studying.The author of this survey was a Chinese volunteer teacher in Chile during March of 2015 to January of 2016, so this study takes Chinese volunteer teachers in Chile of 2015 as research object, by using the combined survey method of interview and questionnaire to study the condition of cross-cultural adaptation of Chinese volunteer teachers in Chile. With the expectation to promote the Chinese teaching in Chile. The thesis contains five chapters:The first chapter is the introduction, expounds the research background,significance, and introduce the development and the present situation of Chinese teaching in Chile.The second chapter is the condition of the adaptation for Chinese volunteer teachers cross-cultural in Chile.The third chapter analyses the results of Chinese volunteer teachers' adaptation of cross-cultural in Chile.The fourth chapter analyses the factors that affect adaptation for Chinese volunteer teachers cross-cultural in Chile.The fifth chapter is suggestions to improve the intercultural adaptability of Chinese volunteer teachers in Chile.
