Due to the features of Chinese, the teaching of Chinese character is one of the most important and the most difficult aspects in Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages, in the meanwhile, the number of the Picto-phonetic Characters occupy a large proportion in Chinese characters. Therefore, knowing the Picto-phonetic Characters well is helpful for Chinese learners to learn Chinese characters. This paper mainly analyses the intermediate stage of Korean overseas students how to learn Picto-phonetic Characters. First of all, this paper introduces the origin of the Picto-phonetic Characters, in the meanwhile, the features and the development, especially the limitation. Next, from the aspects of teaching and learning, this paper analyses the current situation of teaching Chinese for imtermediate stage of Korean overseas students. Last but not least, from the aspects of writing and rading, this paper analyses the errors and find the reason, finally offers some properly teaching strategies.
