| Self disclosure is the process to tell others the information of oneself and sincerely share the private thoughts, experiences and feelings with others (Jourard, 1958). Proper self disclosure can help individuals achieve comprehensive self recognition, form good interpersonal relationships, and maintain their psychological health. Interpersonal trust is the foundation of interpersonal communication and the important condition to form good interpersonal relations. The individuals with high interpersonal trust level are more easily to manifest the trust behaviors and thus are inclined to cooperate with others, form good interpersonal relations and maintain sound psychological status; otherwise, those with low interpersonal trust level would act too cautiously and suspiciously in the communication with others, meet mental obstacles and fall into anxiety, which would generate bad influence on their physical and psychological health. Self esteem is the overall feeling of individuals to self value and self acceptance and the judgment of a person to self value in the attitude to treat himself or herself. Self esteem is of positive influence to the formation of healthy individual psychology and good personality and it is the important sign of psychological health.This paper investigates the self disclosure, interpersonal trust and self esteem of high school students and explores the relationship among self disclosure, interpersonal trust and self esteem.The research adopts the questionnaire survey method and selects 627 students of Jiangsu Province for test. The Jourard Self-disclosure Questionnaire (JSDQ), Interpersonal Trust Scales (ITS) and The Self-esteem Scale (SES) are employed and SPSS22.0 is applied for data analysis and processing.The main research results are as follows:1. The self disclosure levels of high school students are different due to different genders, rural or urban residence, different education levels of parents, and different economic status of families; also the self disclosure levels of high school students in face of different objects and different disclosure problems are also different;2. There is no significant difference in the interpersonal trust levels of high school students in terms of such demographic variables as gender, rural or urban residence, major, education level of parents, only child or not, and economic level of family;3. The self esteem levels of high school students have significant difference in terms of gender, major and the education level of father;4. The self disclosure levels and interpersonal trust levels of high school students have significant positive correlation;5. The self disclosure levels and self esteem levels of high school students have significant positive correlation;6. The self esteem levels and interpersonal trust levels of high school students have significant positive correlation;7. The relationship among the interpersonal trust, self esteem and self disclosure of high school students is close, and self disclosure can be predicted from self esteem and interpersonal trust. |
