Study On Interpersonal Trust,Self-Disclosure And Peer Relationship In High School Students And Its Intervention

Adolescents’ interpersonal communication is one of the important signs of their social adaptation.Peer communication,as a basic need in the process of individual growth,is particularly significant for high school students.The good peer relationship not only helps high school students in their academic performance but also has significant impacts on the development of a healthy personality and the improvement of mental health.In this study,one thousand high school students from three high schools in Guangxi were surveyed by the interpersonal trust scale,adolescent and peer self-disclosure questionnaire and peer relationship scale to explore the relationship among interpersonal trust,selfdisclosure and peer relationship among high school students.Then,according to the relationship between the three,a peer relationship group counseling program with interpersonal trust and self-disclosure contents was designed.Thirty high school students with poor peer relationships were selected through recruitment and divided into two groups: the experimental group and the control group.The experimental group was given group counseling 8 times,and the changes in interpersonal trust,self-disclosure,and peer relationships were observed before and after the intervention.Enriching group counseling being applied to high school students’ peer relationships is research content,to provide a basis for improving high school students’ peer relationships.The main conclusions of this study:(1)The interpersonal trust of senior high school students is significantly different in gender and grade.Among them,the score of girls is significantly higher than that of boys,and the score of senior first level and the senior third level is significantly higher than that of the senior secondary level.(2)The self-disclosure of senior high school students is varied in different gender,grade,and source.Among them,the scores of female students were significantly higher than that of male students,the scores of senior first level and senior third level were significantly higher than that of the senior secondary level,and the scores of urban students were significantly higher than those of county and township students.(3)There were significant differences in peer relationships among high school students from different regions.The scores of urban high school students are significantly higher than those of county and township high school students.And for senior third-level students have higher scores in peer relationships compared with senior second-level students have.(4)High school students’ interpersonal trust,self-disclosure,and peer relationships are significantly positively correlated.Interpersonal trust can not only directly predict peer relationship,but also predict peer relationship through the mediating effect of self-disclosure.(5)The intervention of group counseling in high school students’ peer relationships is helpful to improve their self-disclosure level and peer relationship.
