Research On The Name Of The Social System Of "Mongolian Secret History"

The Secret History of Mongols is an indispensable literary document for the study of ancient Mongolian history,culture and language.Many a scholars have made research into the proper nouns in it—the names of individuals,tribes,mountains,animals and plants.However,there does not exist a fully systemized research into the names of social systems in it.This kind of research would be significant not only for revealing the law in the development of word meaning and and studying modern Mongolian's vocabulary,but also for a better knowledge of the class,political system and martial wars of Mongolian society at that time.Therefore,this thesis is centered upon the names of social system in The Secret History of Mongols,applying method of statistics collecting,presenting and comparing,aimed at a thorough analysis of the origins,forms,contents and cultural bearing of these 53 social system names.This thesis consists of Introduction,body and Conclusion.The Introduction is about the contemporary state of these names,the purpose,and significance of my study,as well as the material source for the names.In Chapter ?,I have analyzed then society,tribes,class and ideologies with The Secret History of Mongols and other relevant materials as basis to sum up the features of these names of social system.In Chapter ?,? have selected 53 names,divided them into five categories as social organizations,social forms,social positions,officer titles,and civilian names,and researched into their origin,content and cultural bearing of the five categories.Conclusion is the outcome of this thesis study.
