With the continuous development of teaching Chinese as a foreign language,more and more people recognize that the errors on Chinese character writing of the European and American students has become the bottleneck problem.This article contains four chapters.Chapter ? introduces the background of research and the related data statistics,including the questionnaire and investigation and the statistical analysis of survey data.Chapter ? classify the errors made by Europe and the United States foreign students in writing Chinese characters.Based on the questionnaire survey,the author divided the problem of the errors made by Europe and the United States foreign students into four parts:"bias on strokes/bias on order of stokes/bias on parts of words/bias on the words",and also,the author classify these types of errors in detail.In this chapter,the author focuses on the problem of the direction in the order of stokes which European and American students have made.Chapter ? analyzes the reasons of the errors that European and American students have made in Chinese character writing,including the complexity of Chinese characters,students' own factors,the teaching omissions of the teachers and the shortcomings in the textbooks.Chapter IV puts forward the corresponding countermeasures for theerrors problem above,respectively for three parts:students,teachers and textbooks.The author hope that these research and analysis could provide the Chinese character teaching in Chinese teaching as a foreign language some new perspectives and methods,improving the teaching pertinence and finally,helping the Europe and the United States students' level of writing Chinese characters.
