| According to the current situation and problems existing in the process of Chinese culture promoting,two cultural promotion strategies were put forward: the “text-based” cultural promotion strategy and the “reader-based” cultural promotion strategy.In this study,the author investigated and interviewed the English readers at a high literary level in Trinidad and Tobago utilizing the two cultural promotion strategies above to assess and analyze their influences on the process of promoting Chinese culture in three dimensions: personal understanding,aesthetics experience and value orientation.Based on the results generated from the questionnaires and an interview,the author proposed to classify the readers into different types and then take certain necessary steps to achieve a better cultural promotion result in accordance with the principle of “starting with the easier components,then digging deeper into the difficult ones.” Overall,a multidimensional cultural promotion model has been formulated. |
