"Interview With Charlie Rose - Conversation With Conan O'Brien" English-Chinese Communication Simulation Practice Report

The interview program is one of the mainstream TV programs nowadays,and it is warmly welcomed by the audience.In western countries,various kinds of interview program have great influence among the masses.More and more people choose to understand a particular country's social,economic,political and local customs through interviews.With the increasing frequency of communication and globalization,interview programs have become more internationally accepted,with guests and audiences coming from the different countries.Therefore,it would help to maximize the value of the interview program by adding the role of interpreter in the program and interpreting the interview content,which enables better communication.This report is based on the author's simulation practice of English-Chinese consecutive interpreting of the interview program Charlie Ross Show interview on Conan Obrien.In this report,the errors and causes are analyzed and proposed with specific cases studies in the simulation practices.At the same time,practical coping strategiesare put forward on the basis of practice,such as ways to divide the long sentence into short sense-groups which are easy to be understood and interpreted,knowledge accumulation,and variable speed listening training to solve the corresponding problems.This article can provide some useful suggestions for the readers in the translation of interview program.
