Chinese idioms are an important vocabulary unit in Chinese language. They are short and refined, with distinct emotional color and rich cultural connotations. However, because of their unequal values in terms of literal meaning and actual meaning, and various forms of changes in actual use, idioms are used.It has become a difficult point for foreign students to acquire Chinese.International students either completely evade use or have various forms of bias in their use.Based on the previous studies, this article analyzes the errors that occurred when middle and senior students acquire Chinese idioms.First define the meaning of idioms and explain the importance of idioms.Then,215 idioms were collected from 21 intermediate and advanced Chinese textbooks for foreigners and four syllabuses, and questionnaires on familiarity were designed to conduct pre-surveys of sixth-grade primary school students whose Chinese proficiency in Chinese and intermediate-level international students were comparable.114 familiar idioms were used as the object of formal investigation to investigate the acquisition of international students.Based on the results of formal investigations, summarize the types of errors and analyze the causes of the errors. Finally, the author puts forward opinions on the arrangement of idioms in the idiom classroom teaching and teaching materials,so as to have a certain reference value for the future teaching of Chinese as a foreign language.
