Internet public opinion is the special reflection of social opinion on the web, which has an underestimated impact on almost every part of our life, such as China's political, economic, cultural and civic life. However, at the same time, the Internet public opinion in our country represents a complex and changeable situation. In other words, there are a great number of rumors, false information as well as negative emotions full of the Internet. Additionally, with the development of computer, Internet technology and mobile terminal as well as the increase of public's consciousness of participating in the topical in the society, the explosion of information on the Internet(the Big Data Era) brings much more challenges to the management of Internet public opinion. So studying the management of Internet public opinion under the background of the Big Data Era has important theoretical and practical value.Based on big data, this paper introduces the characteristics of big data on the basic of defining it,and is combined with the types and characteristics of network public opinion, as well as analyzes the problems existed in the current government management of network public opinion. At the same time,based on the cases from the perspective of big data, the author wants to find out the shortcomings of government's management, and then put forward the corresponding countermeasures.This dissertation comprises five chapters. Chapter One is a brief introduction of the background,objectives and the framework of this dissertation. Chapter Two is the literature review, introducing the definition of big data and the theoretical basis for the governance of public opinion. In Chapter Three,the author firstly introduces the achievements of governance of China's network of public opinion,secondly proposes problems existed in current China's management of network public opinion and analyzes the causes. In Chapter Four, the author analyze the gains and loss of management. Chapter Five draws conclusions, the author puts forwards the solution of management from the aspects of strengthening of the thinking technologies of big data, improving the legal system, using big data to achieve multiple governance, and improving the operational mechanism of large data public opinion.
