The rule of law is an important subject in China's contemporary development. The building of legal system has received increasing attention from the government and citizens. With the improvement of information technology and people's material life, civic participation in judicial activities becomes more and more convenient and fast. Public opinion is defined as open expression of ideas to phenomena in social life, which is actually the gathering of one or multiple opinions. Public opinions may have a positive or negative influence on judicial adjudication. In addition, public opinions can serve as supervising power of judicial activities, thus reducing judicial corruption, strengthening openness and transparency, and improving fairness and equity of judicial judgment. However, public opinions also bring some negative impacts. Judge serves as an important role in judicial judgment, therefore, we can completely learn about the influence of public opinions on judicial adjudication, by exploring the impact of public opinions on judges' conducts. This paper focuses on the negative influence of public opinions on judges in judicial judgment.Judicial adjudication is an important link in judicial activities, with independence of judicature as a cardinal principle, which is to avoid improper intervention of outside forces. As China is in the period of society transformation, some cases with great social influence will certainly become the focus of public opinions. As the core element in judicial adjudication, judge is easily to be the target of public opinions.In comparison with developed countries, China is still in the relatively backward state in its judicial construction. Thus, judges may be more or less affected and intervened by public opinions. Currently, judicial reform is in progress in China, and the establishment of judicial system is a hot topic which still needs further exploration. Starting from judges in judicial adjudication, this paper deals with the influence of public opinions on judicial adjudication, makes an analysis on reasons for the negative influence, and provide specific solutions to the problem.This paper is divided into five chapters. The first chapter is an introduction for presenting the research background and significance, which is followed by the analysis and recitation of research status both home and abroad, and the outline of research methods for paper writing. Finally, innovation points and deficiency are listed in this paper.The second chapter outlines basic concepts concerned with judicial adjudication and public opinions, and their interrelations.The third chapter explores the influence of public opinions on judges in judicial adjudication, including positive and negative influence. Detailed analysis and exploration is mainly focused on the negative influence on judges.The fourth chapter explains the specific reason for the negative influence of public opinions on judges.In the fifth chapter, the author puts forward concrete countermeasures for the influence of public opinions in judicial adjudication, with the purpose of providing some feasible opinions and suggestions in dealing with the negative influence of public opinions on judges in judicial adjudication.
