Analysis Of The Impact Of The Ukrainian Crisis On EU-Russia Relations Based On Geopolitical Theory

The Ukraine Crisis is not only a conflict that triggered by internal contradictions,but also a geopolitical game.Its development and long-term effect play a transitional role in the European order.Since the independence of Ukraine,its geopolitical significance is more glaring than ever before.In the intermediate zone of Europe and Russia,Ukraine bring the balance to the European geopolitical space and establish the buffer in the potential EU-Russia geopolitical conflict,and working great function of Geo-strategy to EU and Russia.So when the incident happened,the west and the east have been affected hardly and influenced their relationship between economic,political and security,cultural field.Shaken the European Geo-political framework that formed after the Cold War is the profound impact,the stability of framework based on peaceful coexistence between Euro-Russia,and Ukraine is the natural barrier between them.But the obsession with power and action in the Ukraine Crisis shown that conflicting in traditional geopolitical concepts deeply influenced the mutual relations.After Russia lost Ukraine,the geopolitical balance has been disrupted,so both of them should base on a new Geo-strategy to handling their mutual relationships.This means that European pattern is changing,and that will be more dangerous and deserve to vigilant.This paper intends to construct geopolitical theoretical frame to analyses the impacts received by Euro-Russia relations in the Ukraine Crisis and their strategic behavior in Ukraine,perceived that distance,power and external forces is the main course.Geo-factors led EU and Russia become interested in Ukraine,geographical position determines the fate of scrambled by big powers.The power struggle between Euro-Russia rise to the level of geopolitical conflict,it's the essence of geopolitical.In order to expand the power,Euro-Russia formulated corresponding strategies and tend to achieved progressively by taking Ukraine into fold.America as the external power to influence the Ukraine by its global strategy.Under the siege,Ukraine is taking more pressure,more difficult to keep neutral.Once Ukraine decided to choose which one,the pressure will transfer back to Euro-Russia.The consequences of Euro-Russia action bring uncertainty to European geopolitical framework,the future of their relations will decide the future European pattern.So this paper combined the traditional geopolitical concepts and the new geopolitical concepts,use constructivism to analyze whether the Euro-Russia will from conflict to cooperation.Euro-Russia relations represent the peace and stability of Europe,European pattern will adjust after the Ukraine Crisis,so the future of Euro-Russia relations will become the focus of the whole world.
