Research On Elderly Support And Life Satisfaction Of Rural Elderly In Guizhou

In recent years,with the continuous development of China's economic society and the implementation of population policy,the elderly population of Guizhou P.R.C.has increased and the population age has been deepened.The traditional family-supported model what is relyed on family pension has been unable to adapt to the current Pension requirments,which needs the formal social support as a supplement.However,under the absence of a large rural labor force,the formal social endowment insurance system support and informal family pension support for the rural elderly are not as good as the urban elderly,and he Pension requirements what can be get by rural elderly is very limited,which has seriously affectted the improvement of rural elderly life satisfaction.Therefore,in the context of the weakening of rural family support,how to broaden the old-age support channels for the elderly in rural areas and improve the life satisfaction of rural elderly is worthy of study.In this paper,373 elderly people in rural areas of 19 counties in Guizhou Province were surveyed by means of questionnaire,then the statistical methods such as univariate analysis,descriptive statistical analysis and multiple regression analysis were used to focus on the status quo of rural elderly support and life satisfaction in Guizhou rural areas and their correlation.The study found that:(1)Guizhou rural elderly has a higher overall satisfaction,and the satisfaction accounted for 70% of the total number of investigators,which indicates that the rural elderly can enjoy a variety of pension support that is no good as urban elderly's,but the rural elderly a higher overall satisfaction.(2)Guizhou rural elderly can get the official pension support mainly from the old-age insurance and medical insurance.In the 373 elderly people surveyed,the elderly who can enjoy the old-age insurance for the elderly accounted for 77.7% of the total number of respondents,and 76.9% of those who enjoy medical insurance,but the elderly people who can enjoy rural subsistence allowances are still in the minority;(3)86.1% of the elderly in the survey are supported by their children,which indicates that as the impact of the traditional agricultural society,the rural elderly still mainly rely on the family pension.Although some rural elderly have to rely on relatives,friends and neighbors to provide support for their support,their satisfaction is relatively high.According to the above conclusions,this paper from the government,the family and the elderly themselves make the relevant recommendations:(1)Strengthen the government's support for the rural elderly in the old-age insurance and medical insurance,and in view of the current status of rural elderly living,timely adjustment of various policies and systems to protect the lives of the elderly;(2)Strengthen the functions of family support for the elderly,and give full play to the positive role of children in providing for the aged;(3)Strengthen the elderly's own construction capacity and the elderly's self-support efforts,so that the elderly people can fully realize their own value.
